Believe it or not, facial contouring is actually pretty easy! That’s of course if you have the right tools. Have you ever tried to sculpt cheek bones, or highlight around your eyes? If so, then you have done contouring before. When you have the right products, the effort is minimal! I am so happy to tell you about the new Contour Kit from gloMinerals! I have been anticipating the arrival of this kit for some time now. Well, I have tried it and I’m in love!

The Contour Kit is a palette of four beautiful shades of natural light. There is one for fair to light skin tones, and also one for medium to dark tones. However, most complexions can use either kit! The palette features four shades, warm and cool, in a pressed powder. The buildable coverage is effortlessly blendable, and can achieve looks ranging from sheer and soft, to chiseled and sculpted. Creating deminsion with perfectly placed shadows and highlights draws attention to the most beautiful features on your face and creates balance.

I have put this kit to the test, and created a look that is so simple! For the basic areas to contour there is a face map attached to the palette for instructions on where to place your shades. It comes with 2 Highlight shades (one matte, and one shimmery), and 2 dark shades. The cooler of the darkest shades is perfect for sculpting the hollows of the cheeks and the jawline, and the warmer/deepest shade is great for adding warmth around the top of the forehead. The iridescent highlight shade is very sheer, and can be placed as eyeshadow or right above the cheek bone. However, the entire kit can be used as eyeshadow, and that’s exactly what I have done in the following photos!

Don’t forget about the new Contour/Highlight Brush ($29) from gloMinerals! A great artist always has great tools to create a masterpiece! This dual ended brush has a soft round side for light dusting of the powder, and a more angled end for patting the powder to build coverage, or for precise application. Both ends are extremely soft. The quality is especially great, and extremely durable. I use many glo brushes in my proffesional makeup artistry kit, and they are a top choice for many other pros in the industry.

So the final look with the Contour Kit turned out like this:

Click this link for an awesome video tutorial shot by Glo Minerals on how to use the Contour Kit! It features Janeena Billera, one of my favorite pros and celebrity makeup artist. I was so excited that I got to meet her in person for the second time last week at a training. She’s such an inspiring, smart, and fun person! It sounds cheesy but I was totally star-struck and acted weird when I asked her for a photo together…see my instagram. (@smokemirrorsbeauty)
